Get out of Chase ASAP, they're constantly fucking me over. And not to piss in your cheerios, but I've been in the same situation as him and they didn't give me my money back...so good luck to him :\

Also, yay for 6 months! I just passed the 7 month mark with Jack...but we don't really celebrate u_U. We're lazy :P

P.S. I AM EXCITED TO READ YOUR LJ. I'm kind of an LJ addict >_>

*chuckles* Yeah, Tom's been having more and more problems with Chase over the past few months. It sucks. I haven't trusted non-CU's since the one and only time I had a "real" bank account with Iowa State Bank & Trust back in 1997 and they royally fucked me when I got divorced. Before and since then, I've only had Credit Union accounts and I've never had a single problem with them. Ever. That says something in and of itself, I think :)

We didn't do anything particularly spectacular to celebrate; just went to Sundance Cinemas and saw "Away We Go", but it was a great movie and fitting for an "anniversary" date, I think :) Honestly, just doing anything with him is fun, so I was perfectly happy with that. Yay for 7 months with Jack!

Do Credit Unions have overdraft fees? If so, how exactly do they work? Chase seems to manage to take money out of my account even after it's way above 0....I need a new bank ASAP, but I don't wanna get into the same situation I'm in now with Chase :\

My only problem with overdraft fees is that it ends up being a never ending cycle, I wouldn't be so close to $0 in my account all the time if they would just once stop taking $35 fees out of my account every time I accidentally overdraw by like $2 the day before payday -_-

Sorry to rant via LJ comment, but I was under the $0 line by not even $10, and they took $140 out of my check on payday, and my check was just over $400.

I need to get rid of overdraft fees, and if Credit Unions do that, I'll change tomorrow. Also, they have checking and savings accounts, right? (sorry, I'm dumb hahaha)

Most Credit Unions have overdraft protection. UWCU actually recommended it to me when I opened my account, despite the fact that I'm very careful to always keep at least $250 in my checking account to prevent overdrafts from ever happening. But anyway...at most Credit Unions, overdraft protection is either outright free, or free with sufficient credit background. Mine's basically an "anytime loan" for up to $500. Basically, it's like an invisible credit card. If for some reason you overdraft, like you just described, it just comes out of that $500 and you'll get the equivalent of a credit card bill that says "you must pay this amount by this and such date." Pretty sweet deal.

The big thing about Credit Unions is that they're non-profits, so they actually try to take care of their customers instead of trying to rape them for every possible penny. Switch tomorrow. Seriously.

Oh, and yes, they have all the same things you get with "regular" banks: checking, savings, CDs, money market accounts, IRAs, car/home loans, etc. etc. :)

Associated Bank fucked me in a very similar way. Since switching to UWCU I couldn't be happier. They ROCK!

*laughs* It's funny; Chelsey said almost the same thing on my Facebook in reply to that :D I'm very happy with UWCU; they've never done a thing to let me down and have, on more than one occasion, gone beyond my expectations. Yay for credit unions!
