Wow, I did a real number on myself this time.

I'd originally thought, this last time that I cut myself at work, that it wasn't too bad. I even fought going to the hospital. Then the doctor told me I'd nicked (and therefore caused a rip in) the tendon on top of my thumb. Holy Crow! Oh, Hon, I'm so sorry! It's almost amazing how something small can cause such a drastic change... Are you at all ambidextrous? I suppose now's a great time to learn -..- I suppose you might need to consult with your doctor about how much work you could take on... it might help to work at some point. If you do end up having to claim worker's comp... you might want to find a consuming hobby. I remember quite well that your artistic talents are not confined to your music :)

Yeah, it's been pretty messed up, that's for sure. >.< Luckily, it happened to my right hand and I'm left-handed, so it hasn't been as bad as it could have been, although I've had to relearn how to do things like tying my shoes, opening doors while carrying things, and typing. Work's been fabulous. I feel so incredibly lucky to be working somewhere with caring management. They put me to work in Grocery stocking shelves and facing four days a week (truck days). Everyone in the store has been welcoming; Grocery is saying they're going to try to steal me from the OSK, in fact! *laughs*

I never got an option to apply for WC; I was just signed up for it. They're compensating me for the hours I haven't been able to work (since I was hired full-time and I'm only working part-time due to my injury) and paying for all the medical brouhaha I've gone through (natch). Actually...I'm just gonna post a new entry and explain it all there! :)
