Hi! I haven't posted in a very long time, but I used to have three rattie boys: Basil (in my icon), Doyle, and Moriarty. Sadly the three of them passed away several years ago, and I haven't had any since then. Every so often I would stop by the MSPCA and see what rats they had looking for homes, but I never found any that caught my eye until this

I can't answer your question because I don't line my shelves (though that sounds like a GREAT idea!!!! I usually just clean it.... not as often as I should :X) I hope you get some answers - I am interested in maybe trying to start doing that as well.

Your post really caught my eye though, because not only do I have the same cage as you, I have also (in the past) had a Violet (icon), Irene and Mar[ie] .... so needless to say I love your name choices!

Haha, I love coincidences like that. :D. Though I suppose it's not that unusual when you're naming your pets after popular characters. Your Irene looks like such a lovebug, her little pink nose is adorable.

I've never understood why people use cage liners, the floors are plastic just wipe them down instead of having pee soaked material, that will get chewed and need replacing or washing, not very environmentally friendly
