Haha! On the first day of the the New Improved Pottermore, Snape got some long-overdue respect. About time!

Of course for the Snaters there is a feature called "11 times Professor Snape was the hardest teacher to please at Hogwarts" with snarky Snape quotes from the text we already have.

But then there's this: "The Five Death Eaters You'll Never Read more... )

sleekeazy's hair tonic, snape wins, fleamont potter, harry potter, skele-gro, linfred of stinchcombe, james potter, gold, pottermore, gringotts, potions, inheritance, severus snape, pepperup potion, invisibility cloak

I wonder what the relationship is between Charlus and Fleamont. I always headcanoned Charlus as something like James's uncle or great-uncle anyway, rather than a direct ancestor.

I find it funny that Harry's grandfather invented something Harry could surely have used a drop of from time to time.

I've never believed that Charlus was James's father, perhaps his uncle, but now it appears Fleamont doesn't have any siblings. So now my head canon is that Charlus Potter is another Mark Evans and has absolutely no relation to Harry Potter.

I think that may be true, since JKR says that the Potters weren't included in the "Sacred 28" list of Pureblood families, but there was Charlus and his wife on the Black Family Tree. There was a split somewhere in the past, and Charlus must have been a pureblood racist.

Well, that settles the Black connection Dorea Black defentely isn't Harry grandmother.
pitty, because I like the Stuartian sequence ( Charles, James, Henry ) of pronames for the Potters .

I don't understand why she bothered putting any Potters on the Black Family Tapestry. Just red herrings all around.
