With the lions and the camels and the tree of life? I would like use it as a basis for a cloak I would like to make. Does anyone know of any sources that have close up pictures of the embellishment? I have read the descriptions, but would really like to see the detail work myself to determine what is couched and what is split stitch and which

I have a copy of Schuette's embroidery tome with pictures. When we can see each other and neither one is way busy (dreaming here) I'd be glad to bring it along.

I would love that -- I have been pondering this mantle for years. I do not think I can undertake the same scale of the project -- the mantle is freaking huge, but I do think I am going to do something similar, but more scaled down -- perhaps a capelet?
