Big news: the powerbook is dead. Bad backlight element. Cost to repair (so far): $699.

Long live the linux based workstation. Until I can afford either a new screen (if it is truely worth that) or an MBP (preferred).

It looks like your taking the right steps into the direction you want to be heading in. It takes time though, which as annoying as it may seem, is for the best and will benefit you in the long run.

side note: I was wondering why you weren't online lately. Poor computer death definitely sucks. *nods* E-mail still works though as long as you go to a computer lab, right? ^_~ I'll have to leave you some love notes then.
