Have hit the trifecta

Jan 05, 2013 10:17

There's been a bug going around my office for a few weeks now and it seems that I am its latest victim. Have not been bad enough that I can justify staying home around the holidays (especially given that between people with planned vacations and calling out sick we've been extremely short handed), but I now officially feel like crap. Lots of ( Read more... )

This has been a very bad season for the norovirus and flu. I get my shots every year on account of having people I care for who are immunity-compromised, but I was still laid low over most of the holidays with something flu-like and it was horrible. I hope it passes quickly for you and that you get lots of rest and comfort.

I work at a hospital so everyone has to get a flu vaccine. That hasn't stopped the bug from running roughshod through the staff and pretty much all of us are getting sick to some degree. My nurse got sent home on Thursday, so I guess it's now my turn.

Just need to keep myself supplied with tea and I'll be fine. *hugs*

There's definitely a lot of that coughing crud going around right now - hope you feel better soon. *hugs* Happy to hear that the tea is helping!

It's definitely getting a bit tiring, the whole 'you're a bad brother' spiel on SPN.

The tea is most definately helping. It's nice to have a variety to pick from and not to have to measure (when you can barely see straight).

SPN is wearing on my nerves. I love these two characters and it's awful to see what the show is doing to them. And I'm avoiding the greater fandom like the plague. The brother wars are awful under the best of circumstances, but now? Oy...

I am so sorry that you have been sick. Although, weather change usually nails me with a cold more so than people. I haven't watched this season either. I am too annoyed about what I read too. Maybe, when it comes out on DVD, I watch it. Right now...I have no desire too.

Everyone at my hospital has been coming down with something lately. I just wish that I felt bad enough that I could justify taking a sick day and letting it get out of my system.

Watched a few eps on the dvr yesterday and did a lot of fast fowarding. I really hate what the writers have done to them. There's just so much resentment and malice between the boys. I haven't even enjoyed reading SPN fanfic for the past few months now.

So sorry about you getting the crud. I hope you either get better or get just enough worse that you can justify calling off work, so you can then get better.

I'm watching Supernatural, for now, but I'm nearing the end of my rope. When Carver came in I told myself that I would be fair and give him the entire season to judge, but it gets harder and harder each week. They have just TRASHED the brotherly relationship and as of now, I can' t see how they can get it back on track. Or at least how they can get it back on track without having Sam completely cave to Dean and grovel about what a bad brother he is, which YUCK. Supposedly episode 13 is going to be very emotional and honest (whatever that means), so I'll hold out until then and reevaluate. I wish I could just quit this show, but right now I'm stuck.

I've been really trying to avoid a lot of the fan boards because I'm deathly afraid of what they're saying. TWOP isn't worth talking about - I know that the posters there will trash Sam each chance they have, but even on the Sam-friendly sites, things are just too toxic because I don't want to see Dean trashed all the time either. I want them to be brothers again and have one another's backs. Right now, I can't understand why they are still hunting together since it's painful obvious that they are hating every minute of it.

Still not sick enough to avoid going to work. Meh...
