I'm gonna cut this entry, cause I'm not sure how long I'll be able to ramble.

Okay, so hero worship sucks. I kinda knew that already, but fucking hell, what is it with people worshipping someone one minute and completely condemning every single one of their choices the next? While I'm not a particularly huge fan of Ryan Ross, there's still things that kid has achieved none of us can even compete with. He's a pretty unique songwriter and he's always tried to move the band to the next level, trying new things no matter what critics or fans had to say about it. What the fuck did anyone expect, rose vests forever? The guys have grown up a little, everyone wants to try new things and for whatever reason, they feel they need to be apart to do that. How about respecting a decision like that, even if it's not what you hoped to see? Apparently, it ain't gonna happen, so instead, people are picking teams and twittering shit comments and musing about descents into drug addiction facilitated by Jon Walker. Yeah, remember the guy? You know, the one everyone in bandom described as sunshine and puppies and everything good in this world? Apparently, he is now the anti-christ. Funny how these things can happen.

It's not the first time I'm coming across this kind of shift in fandom, I remember Conor releasing Cassadaga and folks being like "get back to your basement and be miserable, we prefered Mirrors."
See also: Gerard Way.

CHOICES, people! The right for artists to explore new angles and be creative and unique and to throw ground-breaking shit out there? Freedom to make some fucking descisions that aren't based on record sales? Recognition that said artists are actually people who have the right to evolve, change their minds and occassionally maybe fuck up? Freedom of expression?

Apparently, none of those matter a damn to anyone, so let's just get a bunch of pod-bands who never change and cuddle all day, releasing the same album over and over while they're hugging everyone and their brother for meet-and-greet photographs. They could smile all the time, too. Oh wait, we've got those, right? We've got our Britneys and boy-bands and bullshit plastic pop they blare at us while we shop in the stores these folks have endorsement deals with, pathetic, souldraining, meaningless crap that's got the emotional nutritional value of a Twinkie bar. Maybe let's all go back to that. It's comfortable for stuff not to change, lest it challenges us to try something new.

I'm pretty sure had there been Internet when the Beatles were around, a lot of "fans" would have gone bashing St Peppers and prefered the dudes keep the suits and ties and never sing about anything but holding hands.

And yeah, I'm about done. Just... this shit irks me no end.

P.S: Also, if someone feels an overwhelming need to defriend me at this point cause I'm a bitter bitch: feel free.
