Fuck-yeah the Ring is long. That's Wagner for you. His longest opera (Die Meistersinger von Nuremberg) is like... 6 or 7 hours. He has overtures that are 20+ minutes. The Flying Dutchman was meant to be about 30min long - it's 2.5 hrs. Goddamn Wagner... I have such a love-hate relationship with that man.
