I don't know anything about HTML. I just put the journal in "variable flow",and I made it to where the background is behind the text and there's no line outlining the entries. Those are all options you can chose. THEN I uploaded a picture to my photobucket account and got the URL and put it as the background. If you need me to explain it step by step,I'll help you.

when you log in,there's that place that bar at the top where you chose that you want to update your journal...just go to "manage" and then "customize".YOu will see something that says "journal style" and if it's not S2,change it.Then on the "chose layout",pick variable flow and then press the change button.scroll down and click on the "edit customizations" button. Go to "presentation" and chose NOT to draw a line around content box and that the content box doesn't have a background. Then there is the "image URL" option. Just click override and put in the URL. If you don't know how to get image URL's,I will tell you.Then chose "fixed,no repeat" for the background image display.Just leave all the other stuff alone. Then go to colors and chose your colors.You can chose one color and then cut and paste the code in some of the other boxes so that your colors will match.Just toy around with it and you'll find something you like.
