Summary: Pepa is bored with a song in her head...
Pepa sat at her desk, twirling a pencil between her fingers. Her boots were propped up on the side of her desk and she wore a mask of extreme boredom. She spared a glance around the prescient, hoping for someone to come toward her with a file, a complaint; hell she even half hoped for Don Lorenzo to come and give her a blazing lecture on her inability to file her paperwork on time. Unfortunately, for Pepa, it seemed that she was destined for doing nothing today. She sighed, tossed the pencil down on her table, and watched it bounce before dropping onto a sheaf of papers.
“Dios, I hate days like this,” she muttered to herself. She leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, humming a song under her breath.
And I would runaway…
I would runaway, yeah, yeah…
The song was so reminiscent of her feelings for a certain redhead Forensics Inspector. A thought suddenly flashed through Pepa’s mind and she smiled. She opened her eyes, surveyed the room (again), to ensure that no one was going to ask her to do something and got up. Whistling softly to herself she made her way to the forensics lab where she knew her lover would be.

Silvia was in the midst of analyzing a liquid sample from the latest crime scene when her girlfriend sauntered in, with an obvious bounce to her steps. Silvia raised an eyebrow and set the sample down on the table.
“Who did you kill?” The redhead asked half joking.
Pepa cocked her eyebrow in return. “I have to kill someone to be happy, princesa?” She closed the door behind her and walked over to Silvia, taking the smaller woman in her arms and brushing her lips against hers. “Can’t I just be happy to see you?” she whispered against Silvia’s lips.
Silvia smiled softly, and reached up to brush back Pepa’s bangs. “I’m happy to see you too.” She tucked her head against Pepa’s shoulders, loving how the taller woman immediately drew her deeper into her arms.
Pepa nuzzled her nose into Silvia’s unruly hair, breathing in her lover’s scent. She pressed tiny kisses into the flaming red hair, along the side of Silvia’s temple, down the side of her cheek before planting a soft kiss and nibble to the shell of the smaller woman’s ear. “Dance with me.”
Silvia knitted her eyebrows and pulled back a little to look into Pepa’s eye, unsure if she heard correctly. “Que?” she queried.
Pepa grinned and stepped back from Silvia, extending a hand. “Dance with me, pelirroja.”
Silvia let loose a nervous chuckle. “Pepa we are in a lab.”
Pepa nodded. “Si, we are. Dance with me.”
Silvia tilted her head, a confused yet amused expression marring the features of her face. She shrugged and took the offered hand, allowing herself to be gently spun before being pulled into Pepa’s embrace. “We have no music,” she said, feeling a little insecure.
Pepa briefly tightened her hold on her lover. “We’ll make some,” she murmured. Tilting her head down, she began to sing softly to Silvia.
“Say it’s true…there’s nothing like me and you.”
Pepa took the lead and moved her and Silvia slowly on the spot, in time to the tune in her head.
“I’m not alone…tell me you feel it too.”
Pepa smiled tenderly as she felt Silvia relax in her embrace. She gently started to maneuver them around the room.
“And I would runaway…I would runaway, yeah, yeah. I would runaway…I would runaway with you.”
Silvia breathed in her lover’s scent as she settled her head on Pepa’s shoulders. Pepa’s spontaneity was one of the many things she loved about this woman. This dancing in the lab, literally serenading her was simply so Pepa.
Cause I, have fallen in love…with you. No…never…I’m never gonna stop falling in love with you.”
Pepa drew back slightly and gently nudged Silvia’s head off her shoulders. She then looked deep into her redhead’s eyes as she sang the next verse.
Close the door…lay down upon the floor. And by candlelight…make love to me through the night.”
Silvia felt her eyes tear up. The look of love that was shining in Pepa’s eyes was so clearly evident that it took her breath away. She felt tears scatter onto her cheeks and unconsciously leaned in to Pepa’s touch when the taller woman reached up to wipe away the tears.
Cause I have runaway…I have runaway, yeah, yeah. I have runaway; runaway…I have runaway with you.”
Pepa twirled Silvia slightly, taking care to ensure her lover wouldn’t bump into anything. Pulling Silvia back into her embrace, she placed a chaste kiss on the smaller woman’s lips, caressed her cheek before taking in a breath.
Cause I, have fallen in love with you. No…never…I’m never gonna stop falling in love with you.”
Pepa hummed the last few bars of the song before gently slowing down the dance and smiled sweetly down at the woman in her arms. “Te quiero,” she whispered reverently.
Silvia sniffled, smiled and pulled Pepa into a fierce hug. “Dios, I love you so much,” she mumbled into Pepa’s neck. She pulled back and studied her lover. “I didn’t know you could sing.”
Pepa shrugged and colored a little. “It’s not something I like to advertise,” she said, half under her breath.
Silvia, a smile playing about the corners of her lip, cupped her lover’s face in her hand. “That was a beautiful song. Thank you.”
Pepa opened her mouth to reply but as luck would have it, there was a sharp knock on the door before it opened and a head popped in.
“Ah, Pepa there you are,” Montoya announced. He gestured for Pepa to follow him. “Don Lorenzo needs you in his office.”
Pepa rolled her eyes and glanced down at her lover who looked none too pleased at the interruption. “Sorry, princesa. Gotta run.” She bent down and kissed Silvia briefly before untangling herself.
Silvia sighed in disappointment but smiled up at Pepa. “See you after work.”
Pepa nodded, tossed the redhead a grin and followed Montoya out the door. Silvia spared a fleeting glance at Pepa’s retreating figure before mentally shaking herself and returning to work.
