Nooo that sucks. Is it good or bad that most of the games that I've been considering aren't that good?

It's not a bad thing, per se. It has alot to do with the fact that most of the stuff that looks appealing isn't quite right for some reason, either because the game doesn't really utilize the DS capabilities well (Point Blank DS) or, simply, it sucks (LSW2).

For you in particular, 'Nintendogs'(doggies) and 'Trauma Center: Under the Knife' are my reccomendations. I'm not sure what your reception was to 'Animal Crossing: Wild World', but I reccomend that too. You also mention that you liked 'Super Mario RPG'(SNES) and thus I reccomend 'Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time'.
