Traveling on My Birthday

Aug 10, 2008 22:01

Today was my 21st birthday. I spent it in the car with my family, traveling from Grand Teton National Park to our home in Colorado. I was actually fine with that. I got to see some very beautiful territory. Since I like traveling so much, it felt like a good way to celebrate (sibling fights aside).

I wrote my last post on my grandparents' computer ( Read more... )

Thanks so much! Don't worry about it being late; I've wished people a happy birthday two weeks after the actual day. And thanks also for the compliments on the pictures! I'm going to post more soon. It feels good to share photos rather than have them stay all lonely on my computer. When do you start college?

P.S. I'm going to Target today. : )

Lovely photos, from everywhere! Goodness, the Rockefeller Nature Preserve looks stunning.

The Rockefeller preserve was just fantastic. In the U.S., the main national park visitor centers are usually nothing much because they were built with public funds. But the Rockefeller preserve, being established with private money, has a REALLY posh visitor center. Even the bridges and water fountains and restrooms were all fancy. It figures.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! My 14-year-old sister has started calling me an "old hag." My little brother wants me to buy him booze. Sigh. : )

Ooer, it sounds shiny! You'd be hard pressed to find something like that here.

Jeez, you are so old now! Better get out the walking stick. *rolls eyes* Haha, it is your duty as an older sister!

Thanks! : ) I don't like to drink, so turning 21 was actually kind of anticlimactic. Later tonight my friend and I are going to a pub, though, so that I can get "ID'd." : ) How've you been lately?

Hey, there's way more than just drinking that you can do at 21. ;)

I've just been really busy! 16-credit summer class, part-time job, drafting one novel, revising another, planning an internship, studying for a 4-credit programming class, etc.

Wow, sounds like you have a lot of stuff going on! Are you fitting any time off in there?
