Journal or blog?

I have a dilemma. I would like to write in both my old-fashioned private journal and my blog, but I really don't have time--especially when school is in session. How do people balance the two? When I write in my blog, I don't feel like writing in my journal. When I write in my journal, I don't feel like writing in my blog. To top it off, I'm often ( Read more... )

Or you could use your blog as a method of procrastinating from your novel and/or schoolwork. That's what I do. ;)

60,000 words, way to go! My novel is 71,000 words and rising (I'm adding more description), and the agents don't seem to mind. I think 100,000 is tops for a debut novel, but these days, it seems like the longer, the better.

You can write up to 120, 000 and still sell. As long as they're 120 000 good words, who cares, right? :)

Thanks! I've worked a lot on my novel since I last wrote. I've essentially decided to split it into 2 books. The first one will be around 90,000 words. Who knows how long the second will be. But I'm afraid that splitting it into two will make it even harder to sell to publishers... Oh well. I'm just going to concentrate on the writing for now.
