Well, of a total of four puppies, only one came out alive. My sister didn't cope with it very well and I think is a bit traumatised. Pearl is also a bit traumatised and so is not suckling the puppy...
Had a feeling it wouldn't be a good night!

Emma's been trying to extract Pearl's milk...she's done a better job than any of the rest of us. We have the puppy milk formula as well, so hopefully between the two the puppy will get what it needs.
The other problem is that there is another dog in the house - Cosmo - a male border collie...and because the puppy is male and not his, it's likely if he's near it, he might try to kill it. He, though, seemed calmer than Pearl!
Thank you for your help, and I will let you know what happens. My dad's around there at the moment, and Emma's boyfriend is rather taken with it, so it's in good hands. Well, I say hands - Ian's apparently been rocking it in his arms like a baby!

Yes, I'm afraid Pearl would kill it given the chance. They've got it in cage, so hopefully Pearl might learn to be around it. I am not surprised, really - Emma is far too soft with Pearl (she doesn't have any children of her own and is unlikely ever to, and I think Pearl has taken the place of that, but that means that she's almost completely in control). And my baby Bullitt (who is part staffy) can be absolutely evil to other (especially smaller) animals.
I wonder if rubbing the puppy with one of Pearl's toys might help...hmm...
What food was it you changed to? James Wellbelove was the one Cosmo was on...and they're now on Oscar petfood.
Enjoy your weekend. Relax :)

Yes...I must say, I don't like this feeling of becoming attached. He's not my dog, he will not live with me, and I don't like puppies *grits jaw*. Yep...horrible things...I don't want one...
Do I sound convincing?

I do have some nice German Trance music here...what do you think?
*sigh...he's just not sophisticated enough for 16th century Latin choral song. He just sighed and said 'Tallis who?'...well...he said "Squeegh" again, but you knew what he meant. I tried to explain the beauty of the harmonisation of eight individual choirs of five male voices and the themes of mortality/divinity and the problems of having a sence of lowliness when also in a position of power.
He just said 'You wha'? Got any ska?' and then rolled on his head because he'd got to the top of the bear and didn't notice the large drop on the other side.
Really, youngsters these days.
