I had the surgery; I didn't think it was too bad at all. The cut fades...mine didn't as much as my mom's or grandma's (you can't even see them at all), but it's really not that bad. You feel better and you don't have to take the medicine that causes liver damage.

Thanks so much! Apparently, my great aunt also had the surgery, and she leads a very active lifestyle. The outcome is more stable compared with the ups and extreme downs of radioactive iodine. I will discuss it with the doctor. I still have no insurance so I would have to figure out how to pay for it. If I could find a doctor in Indy who could do the endoscopic procedure, I want to do that because the recovery time would be less (two weeks is too long for me to be down). Also, I have to see a naturalpathic doctor(believe or not there are a couple of those here in town) and make sure I have truly exhausted all my herbal/homeopathic options.

Anyway, I didn't know you were in town for the whole summer. I'm having a pizza party Saturday evening with some of the people I'm tutoring if you want to come. If you want to meet up sometime, let me know.
