Hello :)

Just wanted to say hi, I just joined after watching long time :) Love this community and my favourite pairing is Koumyou + Ukoku :D , who could resist them? I also wanted to ask a question "how to make Sanzo costume". I'm going to cosplay Ukoku next month and I don't know how to make his outfit...Help anyone?

I've never done it, but - I bet you could use a bathrobe or kimono pattern to make his robe. For his shirt, you could probably find a black turtleneck by searching the thrift stores, and then just chop off the sleeves. For the gloves, I guess you could buy some cheapo long gloves (Claire's might have them) and cut them up. You could use construction paper and markers or cloth and fabric paint to make the sutra. I really don't know what you'd use to make the chestplate thing, though. Maybe you could just make it out of thick/padded cloth?

Oh, and so people don't think you're Sanzo, you should get (cheapo reading) glasses and a stuffed bunny. :)

I hope that helps at all.....

hm... I've cosplayed Ukoku and seen a lot of sanzo cosplaying, so I'll tell you what I think is the difference between a good and an excellent sanzo (whichever one) cosplay ( ... )

You can look for a basic kimono pattern from Simplicity or Butterick. The one for Butterick is a furisode kimono though. Be sure to avoid putting on the chakra dot as he never gained one after he assumed the Sanzo title. Mainly because he's a slimly little weasel(not meant negatively as I'm also going to be cosplaying as him for a convention) that has a heart as black as pitch and is warped as anyone can be and he basically slaughtered Goudai Sanzo. You'll need to have glasses as he has to use them to see. Also be sure to have tabi for your feet and traditional sandals. Don't do the obi however if you get the kimono pattern. A simple black sash will suffice. Make sure that the fabric is white or some color close to that as well. Have fun cosplaying Ukoku and be sure to look for the Koumyou's. Which are insanely rare. Which is a pity. Love the icon by the way. Renji is multiple types of love.

You have a point. As I'm going to be cosplaying in the summer I most definitely WILL NOT be using black fabric.

*Grins* I'd imagine if you think the Sanzo outfit is too hard you could always go for Kouryuu's outfit? XD Alot less fabric~ LMAO

Ah well but thanks for joining, and a good hi to you too, hope you've been enjoying yourself ^_^
