Here we go boys, girls, and everything in between. ^_^; I thought a lot on it, what theme to start the Icon contest off on, and since this is still a new community, how better to show some community spirit, then to have the first icon contest be for the Community Icon. So…
Icon Contest Challenge: Create an Icon for the Community Profile page.
I don’t think I need to say that along with a banner for your work if you win, your Icon will be on the profile page, with credits for forever, or until it’s decided whether we should change Icons yearly. *Shrugs* -mind that the current one on the page is just an example-
Now for the Fiction Contest, well I looked around to see how other people did things. Little to no clue as I can’t seem to find a definite pattern ^_^; So we’re doing this my way. Once again for the first challenges I’m going for community spirit and creativity, and since this is a Koumyu/Ukoku/Kouryu community….
Fiction Contest Challenge:
Characters: Koumyu, Ukoku, and Kouryu.
*Takes a bite of a pepper* And your ingredient in this story is *pulls the cloth away*
-Doodly doo!- A deck of playing cards
Remember, fictions will be judged on creativity. The story that best uses theme item/person/place in an outstandingly entertaining way will be the winner.
Q&A:
Question: “Yaoi? Yes? No?”
Answer: Doesn’t matter. If you think it’ll help you win go for it. If you’re worried it’ll scare away your chance of winning readers over, flush it. There are no limits on creativity, whatever you feel will help you win, go for it. Yaoi or not. On the rules section it does say this is a yaoi friendly community, people have been warned.
Your Helpful Happy Tip of the Day: Btw for fiction writers, beta_readers is a community that, well you have some one read your work and proof it of mistakes. Back when I was an Aff.net fiction writer I found beta readers very helpful. ^_^; Make sure you can find a beta-reader that can keep up with you, I used to write 5 page chapters everyday for whatever story I was working on at that time. I needed two.
