You know, going back to the debate we all had over the parts and speculation on whats going to happen when in Reload etc in regards to the Ukoku/Koumyou/Kouryuu story lines and stuff (Koumyou might ressurect etc), I've just realised something. In Burial Arc Ukoku and Koumyou make a bet and Ukoku asked what they're staking, Koumyou replies "the one

I've wondered if he was referring to Sanzo with that. Personally, I think he probably means that Koumyou lives on in Sanzo.

I think... there's such a thing as too much wishful thinking. Koumyou's dead. In these kinds of stories, the wise mentor has to die to let the young hero be a hero. Think Star Wars. Or Harry Potter. He can't magically come back - the hero needs to do it on their own, and they can't do that with the mentor hanging around.

On the other hand, I don't think Sanzo's story can really be emotionally resolved without actually having a confrontation of some sort with Koumyou, but I think that would/will be in the place of a vision, or some other magical one-time event. And if Koumyou was never dead at all, or had been resurrected at some point... I think that would be worse for Sanzo than having him dead, since it means that Koumyou had chosen to abandon him.

Yeah, but Hazel has the whole ressurection thing, and him and Ukoku are buddies so I think Ni/Ukoku will try to utilise that in some form. Of course I still think that koumyou has a role to play. I don't think that he will be ressurected per say, merely reincarnated like Kozen/Kouryuu

Ok besides the sillyness, I think theladyvampire is right. Deads dead o_O As much as we'd all love to see him up and kicking I'm sure. Kouryu saw him die, and a temple full of monks saw the rotting shredded remains. u_u as enjoyable as...

Sanzo: *Busts into Ni's office dramatic like* NI!
Ukoku: hm? *Has Koumyou in his arms*
Koumyou: *Hanging on Ni* Oh hello Kouryu..uh surprise?

would be wonderful I have a feeling the only place Kouryu will be seeing Koumyou is in his dreams. o_O

I knew some one would comment on that. I was cracking up with the very idea of it as i was writing it!! Its kinda cute really.Yeah sadly I don't believe that Koumyou will actually be back as in living, but he appears as a guide in Genjo's dreams, and as a fatherly friend - cute and smexy! But I - and I really wish this would be true - want Koumyou to actually come back to either guide or help the Sanzo Ikkou, but in a kinda "spiritual" form - kinda ghost like if you get me. It would be totally cool to see Genjo's reaction to that and the others. Goku would be all - "I've seen him before" or "he looks similar to that guy in my dreams" (actually refering to Genjo's past life as Kozen! because Kozen and Koumyou are sooooo alike)
I think Genjo's reaction would take one of two forms. 1). Totally stunned speachless looking shocked and everything or 2). He's gonna make some sort of comment into it not being really, or a fake or something and then on confirmation would react as according to number 1).
