The last few days have been...well up and down to say the least. Working in claims is NOT fun and I cannot wait until July 10 when I go back to my old department. I misses it precious. Yeah, that's doesn't exactly sound fun. Though I think I could handle it better if it was a can't do anything situation. It's everyone has their specific job and they aren't allowed to act outside of their parameters. And I don't agree with the way that is set up. A perfect example is that sometimes we require Past Medical History to process a claim to be sure that clients haven't lied on their application in regards to pre-existing conditions ( ... )

That's the thing. It's not my job. My job is to let them know where everything stands and if I can't diffuse them transfer them to the claims examiner on the case.

If, in the case of the above example, something isn't rec'd or sent or done I can only say "I will put in a request to get that done." and then I tell the claims admin person in charge of whichever chance, but not by actually telling them, I just route an event to them in a queue that they may or may not get to right away. I cannot promise the customer this will get done or I will personally take care of it. I can only put in the request and rely on someone else to do the work...which obviously did not work in the first place. It's HORRIBLE.
