Aparently the Marshall-Newman amendment passed. This is the one intended to "ban" same sex marriage. News flash Va, IT'S BEEN ILLEGAL FOR OVER 30 YEARS YOU DUMBFUCKS!!!!!!

I wonder how many of Va's most ignorant, bigoted, redneck, but oh so "Christian", even read the whole amendment......

The abuse issue is already being tried in Ohio, where they passed a similarly stupid bill, a guy was picked up for beating the living hell out of his live in girlfriend, and the police were stuck with the issue that they couldn't charge him with domestic assault *because* they were living together and unmarried. It's in the Ohio Supreme Court now, because they still haven't charged the guy with anything, because they're entirely unsure how it would apply. And we all know in Virginia, it's going to be translated three million different ways depending on who you are.

Well, this is the *same* state that has a gun/liquor store directly across the street from the state pen in Lima.

On the upside, at least Norfolk voted in a quite huge percentage against the measure. Norfolk. Of all places. Wow.
