My other act of nonconformity tends to be turning lights off when I enter a room. Although...that's probably more an act of environmental friendliness.
I've friended you, by the way. I hope you don't mind.
Find a belief that is held by society and yourself to be generally true and that you hold to be Right and Decent, and consider (even argue, if you feel up to it) the opposite point of view.
Examples... Women are, by definition, inferior to men. Rape is, in some cases, excusable This XXX ethnicty is superior to all others The ((opposite party to which you support)) is the better party. In some cases the death penality is/isn't justifiable It is wrong to just limit yourself to one partner. Athiests/Agnostics/Christians/buddist belief is wrong because... The Nazies did some good things because... Homosexuality is evil because... (or, in perhaps, OK, because...)
Sometimes by considering the opposite point of view to which you hold, even if that view is quite henus in your own eyes, you can gain a new understanding of those that hold it, and thus argue your case better.
