So. Much. Work. No rest for the undergrad.

1. What are your nicknames?
My parents call me Kiddo, Monkey, Squirrel, Pumpkin, and assorted other embarrassments, which I ironically do not find all that embarrassing. I go by Rave or Raven online. Also, a select few know the meaning behind "Shasta Firecracker."

2. What do you do before bedtime?
Set my alarm on my phone since my clock has finally gone the way of the dodo, take off my glasses, watch, hair ties, etc., and arrange my pillows. I like a lot of pillows.

3. What fandom(s) are you most into at the moment?
Really... Supernatural and Torchwood are still the most current, I guess. Doctor Who may be the first and only fandom to actually succeed in going to a place that has made me unable to watch it or even like it anymore. There are episodes I like, and even as a whole... well, it's just that when I think about it, I get an immediate twinge of "motherfucker" resentment towards it before moving on to more rational places. I've had a resurgence of interest in Farscape and X-Files, two of my greatest loves, as well as a brief fling with Avatar: The Last Airbender. May begin rewatching Buffy soon, with Bridget.

4. What is your favorite scent?
I like cedar and sandalwood. Mom has some sandalwood soap that I like to wash my hands with just so I can smell my hands all day. Foodwise, curry, lentils, and that very beginning of most soups where it's just onions, carrots, garlic and celery sauteing in a little oil... THAT is a good smell.

5. What videogames are you playing at the moment?
None. I pop onto AdventureQuest every once in a while and play with my one character, though.

6. What do you eat the most?
Coffee. Salads because the cafeteria food is not so great and a salad takes the taste away pretty well.

7. What's your favorite pair of socks?
The joke pair of gaudy purple/magenta fuzzy ones that Mom sent me on Valentine's Day, which I wear when my feet get cold. ^_^

8. What was your first big fandom?
Star Wars was the first thing I really fangirled, but I didn't know it at the time. I discovered X-Files, Buffy and Farscape all at about the same time, but the only one I really thought of as a fandom -- being an active participant in it and everything, really getting worked up for new episodes, loving every second of it -- was Farscape. Oh, Farscape. *sighs and misses you*

9. Is there anything that has made you happy in the past few days?
DragonCon this year was probably the best one I've been to since the first one I attended in 2003. So many things there made me happy in such small but profound ways. Also, shipping a package to my parents. In an age where analog things are mostly optional, sending snail mail is especially fun.

10. What's your favorite fruit?
Grapefruit and pomegranates... but they take forever to eat, so my favorite everyday fruit are apples. Pink Ladies/Cripps Pinks, if I can get them.

11. Are roller coasters fun?
No. A big hell no.

12. What websites do you visit daily?
Friends' LJs, Yahoo mail, MUW mail, Facebook, I Can Has Cheezburger, I Can Has TARDIS, DeviantArt, Torch_Wood LJ Comm. Currently, Plastic Winchester Theater as well.

13. What city, country would you most want to live in if not where you are now?
London, England. Possibly Berkeley or Mount Shasta City, both California, USA.

14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
The well-groomed and intelligent variety of fanboy who knows his way around an argument.

15. What’s the last song that got stuck in your head?
"Slipping," Billy's big supervillain number from Act 3 of Dr. Horrible.

16. What’s your favorite item of clothing?
T-shirts. Boring, I know, but I really like the simplicity, comfort and inherent potential of t-shirts.

17. What's better: to give or to receive?
To give. The more you do, the more likely the favor will be returned. But even if it isn't, selflessness is more important than the wallet.

18. What would you do if you see $100 lying on the ground?
To quote newtypeblue, who said it succinctly enough: "Turn it into the police. I'd say doing nothing for a month is a small price to pay for $100."

19. What items could you not go without during the day?
Glasses, a book to read, a bottle of water, something to write on and something to write with, my wallet and my phone.

20. What should you be doing right now?
Studying for my Spanish test tomorrow morning, making myself stop worrying about nothing (literally, I just worry for no reason), finishing "Superior Saturday" because I want to know what happens.

21. Do you always use conditioner when washing your hair?
Yes, but I don't wash my hair every time I shower. Shampoo strips the oils out so that when I do wash it, I have to use conditioner to make it not turn into a 'fro when it dries. Curse thick, coarse, curly hair.

A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs & replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

B) Tag 8 people to do this quiz. These people must state who they were tagged by & cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. Continue this game by sending it to other people.

TAGS: Do it if you want to. I know, such an exponential meme-killer am I.

And because I've been constantly and inexplicably anxious about death, the soul, cosmic shit, etc, for the last few months, and now the CERN project has decided to take over top billing in my brain's "Oshit we're all going to die" department despite all logical reassurances to the contrary... well, folks, if we get sucked into a black hole in the next month or so, it was a good run for the old species. They're turning on the LHC on Wednesday.

Someone tell me I'm being stupid. Actually, someone magically make me go back to the old state of non-anxiety I used to exist in. I don't know why I have it now, but it really runs me down and it's not like I can just switch it off... I can only choose to ignore it, and that takes a constant effort that sometimes slips when I'm tired, or, god forbid, something actually happens to make me anxious. Is this general anxiety disorder? Whatever it is, I don't like it and I want it to stop.

too tired for this,
