to do

I really need an icon of Ianto's badassery. Because he had a lot of it in series 2. They seemed to forget that in Children of Earth.

So here is a list, because I like lists.

To Do

-Take Intensive Intermediate Spanish final. Cross entire class + all undergrad foreign language requirements off the general list of LIFE.

-Two more class days of aerobics/Tae Kwon Do at the rec center in Amory. Then it's back to Columbus and the TKD-only class twice a week with different people again. (And I'd just started getting to know my classmates at the rec center. Alas.)

-Pack. Arrrrgh.

-Costumes. Lots. Both making from scratch and helping/advising with. Me: Henry Gale, Rohirrim civilian, possibly Aziraphale (may skip because of having an overloaded plate). Kaycee: Entwife, vengeful spirit, fairy? Kels: Eowyn shieldmaiden dress. Lizzie: Goldberry. All require shopping (for fabric, accessories, notions, thrift store finds, ordering more theatrical makeup supplies), planning, sewing & construction. And it's about a month until DragonCon. Eep!

-Finish Sokka Barbie before Christmas. Aww... at least he has pants. That's still more than Vash Barbie has. XD

-T-shirt quilt: still going, if glacially.

-Look at grad school programs & begin application process.

-16 hours of classes in the fall. At least it isn't the 19 hours plus extra off-record classes of the last couple of semesters?

-Spectator again. It's money. And relatively fun. And I can review things I was going to read or watch anyway. (Must keep better tabs on new books coming out...) And I think I'm inheriting the Geek on the Street column for a while.

-People keep trying to talk me into doing a radio show, but do I really have the time? *dithers*

-Dilettanti editorship. I WILL KEEP THIS SHIP AFLOAT IF IT KILLS ME.

-Honors stuff. If Honors Student Advisory Council comes up, I'll probably run again. Looks good on a resume and we did next to nothing. (That may not be a good thing to mention on the resume.) I really should have run for officership in more clubs over the years, but honestly I'd rather give the bulk of my effort to campus publications.

-Speaking of clubs, whatever happened to Bukwyrms? Does it not suck anymore? Because I'd join it again if it didn't suck.

-Being the makeup artist for Andy's skits?

-Offer my services as beta/request a beta for my Torchwood Big Bang (tw_bigbang) fic, Coriolis Effect. Finish & submit the first draft, betaed at least once, by September 28th.

-Do NaNoWriMo again and possibly step up to organize a write-in for the Columbus/Starkville area, if there are takers, because I'm sick of the only gatherings in Mississippi being on the coast or in Hattiesburg.

-Theseus's Paradox? Bah, I want it finished so bad, I just fear that it sucks more ass than I dare to let myself realize.

And then there's DragonCon. TO DO: BEN BROWDER AND CLAUDIA BLACK AND GARETH DAVID-LLOOOOYYYYYYD AND AAAAHHHHHHHHHRGH.

The guest list this year makes me gibber incoherently and go NOM NOM at random intervals. Ben, Claudia, Lani Tupu and Ginny Hey for Farscape (I think Paul Goddard cancelled, sads!); James Marsters and GDL for Torchwood, and let me just say that that boy is looking mighty fine this year - he is past the pie phase of series 2 and his ARMS, ALEIOTAJGMJLSDHGALSJD; Terry Gilliam; Patrick Stewart and Leonard Nimoy to fulfill the Trekkies' wet dreams; Peter BEAGLE; Barry Bostwick; Bruce Boxleitner and Claudia Christian and Stephen Furst and PETER EFFING JURASIK for Babylon 5; C. Martin Croker and George Lowe, the gods of Adult Swim; Mary McDonnell and Edward James Olmos, STILL the coolest characters on Battlestar Galactica; and a whole bunch of authors I really ought to gets books signed by for other people, like Gene Wolfe and Mike Resnick and Diana Gabaldon.

So basically way too freaking many people to see all of them in such a short time unless I spent all day every day in line at the Hall of Fame, which is not happening, because my favorite part of cons is the wandering and taking pictures and chatting and soaking it all in. Spontaneity is what makes an overwhelmingly massive gathering like DCon bearable.

-TO LOOK FOR AT DCON DEALER'S ROOM: THERE IS A FUCKING IANTO JONES ACTION FIGURE, BITCH, WHY DIDN'T I ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THIS? I also want the Tosh, and this Jack figure, which is by far better than the icky jumpsuit one from the first series of DW or the drowning-in-giant-coat one. That John Hart figure looks pretty cool, too.

But I want individuals, not wave sets, because really. Weevil. Blowfish. Gwen. No. (I might take a Cyberbikini!Lisa, though. Because any shelf containing the ongoing saga of plastic!Jack and plastic!Ianto needs a plastic!Lisa. FOR THE ANGST. AND SO SHE CAN FIGHT THE PLASTIC PTERODACTYL I ALREADY HAVE.)

myfanwyyyyy, you cannot be blown up, you're the only celebrity pterodactyl on TV!
