i will NEVER refer to the SciFi Channel with the "new spelling" because the change was pretty much the dumbest thing ever. i suppose it will have to be "the channel formerly known as SciFi."

As for fandoms... I'm a bit hte same to be honest. The two brit showes that have grabbed me of late are:
Being Human
This is a very short show, I think only about six episodes long. The Premise is a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf move into a flat together and try to be human. Sounds cheesy and odd? Yep. Sounds awful? Yep. Is it bad? Nope, it's actually really cool and well done. If you can get a hold of it from somewhere I really recommend it. Not so much as a good fandom show, but just generally a realy neat show!
The other cool show atm is Merlin. Now Merlin is not an awsome show. It's fine, it's good, it's entertaining, but it has numerous flaws (It at once is increadibly unlike the Merlin/Arther myth, and yet just enough like it that it is horribly constrained by it. ) That said, I susspect it is a good fandom show -because- of those flaws. Possibly worth a look into. It may even get your mind rolling.
Just some fun suggestions.
