I watch too much TV. It used to not be this bad because A) I've never owned my own TV and B) if I wasn't desperately in love with the show (Farscape), I would have a tendency to forget when it was on even if I had access to a TV. I actually watched less TV when I lived with roommates who owned TVs, because that was in the pre-Hulu days ( Read more... )

You should attempt to pick up Battlestar from the beginning! I promise it's not really as confusing as it seems when you come into in the middle of the show. :D ( ... )

No mail on weekends. I'll let you know tomorrow if it's here!

You know how I can't watch Ugly Betty because the main chick is so obviously a hot chick overworked into an "ugly" stereotype in a desperately strained way? The character of Chuck is just... eh. While he's kind of adorably averse to action, he just doesn't read as "uber-nerd" to me. He's thin, but he's too fit. It's too easy for him to dismiss things that would be more appealing to a "true" nerd. He's "hot guy" model #487 dressed up in nerd clothes and given strangely forced lines about Wookiees.

No worries! LJ is where I go to vent my formless first impressions, instead of being obnoxious out loud. If I'm cranky I'd rather take a jab at a TV show than a friend. And if I didn't want to keep watching, I'd have said so. I'm still intrigued, I'm just not invested yet.

Aw, thanks! My squee for some things isn't really surface squee. I need to, like... go write a thesis paper on some of these shows to get my feelings about them out. I don't want to load that level of discussion on anyone who isn't prepared for it. :)
