I'm oh so thankful own wands and journals still work. Thank Merlin for spells such as Lumos. I think that it would be a total chaos if those wouldn't work too. Not all students are Muggleborn, Halfblood or study -or have studied- Muggle Studies

Well, Lumos isn't enough to look in a mirror properly, but aside from that, I suppose I'm ok.

But seriously, you can look in mirrors during the day. And if you are worrying about not getting enough beauty sleep, then think of all the people that share your fate.
