"Help, anyone? By this I mean help, Robin???"
HA!

What book is it? I suspect that you will not be alone in your book club in finding the "DIVAS!!! woo!" (hilarious label!) attitude grating and irrelevant to feminism. At the book club, talk about your definition of feminism, why this book is incompatible with it, and why that bothers you. I haven't read this mystery book, but the way you are describing it, it sounds like it is lame for embracing lame stereotypes that the patriarchy invented, e.g. women are hyper-emotional! That's not feminist, and no amount of cheerleading the XX makes it so.

Also: Moonlighting is such a cute show! I could not agree more with your assessment of David Addison. You should pay attention to how Hawkeye-tastic (which would really be po-mo Groucho Marx-tastic, I guess) his dialogue can be. Anyway, LOVE. I always think about that character with sadness in my heart when I see current Bruce Willis being all no-eyed and grumpy.
