Downton Abbey Season 2 Finale Recap (Crack Edition)

Nov 08, 2011 03:47

I wrote this long ass cracky/funny recap, but a word that it is my humorous take on the show. So if you can't stand for the show to be mercilessly mocked this is not for you. It's all in good fun though.:P

This will contain both words and images that are extremely spoiler-y as well. You have been warned.

Spoilery cracky recapping inside... )

silliness, downtonabbey, humor, recap

GRRRRR WHY does Carson hate Ethel? That's my only grudge against him. Don't even get me started on Mr. Bryant...

Epic Cora's shocked face is epic! I promised my roommate I'd get her a screen cap of that as soon as I could find one.

Lord Grantham...you were so great and then Jane came along.

As much as I love Anna and Bates, could the honeymoon scene have been more awkward?

I think Carson is just really stodgy and he's definitely the type of person that has really bought into the morals of his time period as most people did. I suppose he sees Ethel as a harlot with no self control, which is really unfair because it's not like she got herself pregnant. Men were not subjected to the same kind of judgement back then I suppose.

LOL the honeymoon scene really was awkward. I ship them like burning but after that I was like, "Ok I really hope we never have to see that again". XD They just didn't seem comfortable at all.

THIS. ^THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.

(As an American,) My favorite line in this episode had to be: "If you're going American on me now, then I'll just leave."

My favorite line from you had to be: "Mary asks him if he'll be alright without his stick, and he says that she is his stick. If only Dr. Freud were here."

XDDDDDDDD. I wish this weren't the finale so that I could have more recaps.

Oh, and "But O'Brien shall not be moved." That was good too.

Thanks! :D

You never know. I didn't know people would enjoy this one so much, so maybe I'll try to do a few for next season.

I chuckled throughout this whole thing, but for some reason, the line that made me cackle loudly was...

In the kitchens, Thomas tells everyone that Sir Richard is making himself useful by daring to ask for tea. Mrs. Hughes looks like she could kick a puppy.

*snerk*

I also liked... She then begins to plan the elaborate prank she's going to pull on the entire English aristocracy by making Branson an esteemed journalist/Prime Minister/next in line for the throne. How much did I love Violet's whole speech there? A LOT.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D

Violet is my absolute favorite. Nearly everything she says is comedy gold.

Your recap handily points out why Elsie Hughes is the most awesome woman on the show.

She is! She actually reacts to everything, just not always with words. Just watching her face during an ep is hysterical lol.
