I am trying to watch season two right now, but nothing is happening. Actually, it's worse than nothing: the show is traveling backwards to re-hash stuff it already re-hashed to death in season one ( ... )

The problem is that the show is written like a daytime soap. Which means they constantly have to think up plot.

They've got to get rid of over half their writers. The show has like 18 writers in the writers room. A show needs four, maybe five solid writers, six at the most.

There's all this talk of bringing Mark Verheiden on as exec producer, but he's been a consulting producer already so..

I don't know, the firings put the fear of god into the staff, but NBC itself is on crack. They watched the second season like everybody else and prayed for the strike to give them some breathing room. Now they themselves have a lot of work to do.

They apparently assigned a writer to each character. Holy fuck is that unwieldy...not to mention it blows balance to bits. If a character dies, does the writer get fired? :p

Just a quick question, do you like ANY of the shows you watch?

Yes. And if you keep checking back, you'll eventually notice.

I do appreciate your reading this journal, but as you can see I only just created it. There will be good and bad.

It's difficult showing rationality as a fan these days. Like with an adolescent mentality, we're not allowed to show individuality. Fans seem to think it's equivalent to treason for some reason. Interestingly, I find this mostly--if not exclusively--with fans online.

Like that helps anyone.

As for Heroes, another 18 eps have been ordered if I have my facts correct. Where they'll go with that, I haven't the faintest idea. If they had characters, instead of characters in the service of plot, you could come in every week and watch them shoot super-powered pool and horse around with one another and you would love every minute of it.
