The title is misleading, because right now, Sprog is my life.
She's a great baby, and easy to care for when she's well. Notice the "when she's well" disclaimer. I put that on there because I know what she's like sick, which means that it's been a bit of a rough start for her, but she's through the worst and seems healthy, happy, and heavy (up to over 11 lbs at 7 weeks!) now.
I, on the other hand, am taking the slow road back to recovery. Apparently the pregnancy was a bit much for my thyroid, and it stopped functioning properly post-partum. I'm now on some replacement hormones, but they won't kick in properly till I've been taking them for 8 weeks, and we didn't discover the problem till three week ago, so... *sigh* It leaves me fatigued, jittery and even colder feeling than normal. Having Sprog also did a number on my lower back, as I am now suffering from a pinched nerve due to hip displacement (and can't take much in the way of meds since I'm breastfeeding, so ouch.)But the exercises are helping and hopefully both problems will be under control in about a month.
Really, now that Sprog is healthy, and people have been so great about helping out (my mom, my sister, and
zehera all planned trips to help for a week or more, as well as my bible study group dropping by with plenty of food and baby relief time)the next hurdle appears to be getting sprog to think about sleeping more than three hours at a time, and planning my trip to show off the baby to family and friends in PDX.
Spouse is transitioning into fatherhood well, and I owe all of my family and friends so much thanks for their help, so there's nothing I could ask for on the relationship score. And, I have both my eight year anniversary and my first mother's day coming up next week, so I'm golden.
Hope all is well with you, I will catch up with my flist (and start acknowledging birthdays again) as soon as I can.
