Happy Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year!
Haven't been on LJ much lately, as it has taken all my efforts to keep up with RL.
So, to update you all on my holidays:
Spent thankgiving with our dear friends from college up in the mountains, and saw 2 of our Godsons, and got to play lots of games and even see the whole extended family, and it was great.
Came home for a week, and then went to spend Christmas #1 with Spouse's family in Colorado, in Avon (by Vail). Got to see Sprog's new 7 month old cousin dedicated, and had a blast taking turns skiing Copper Mtn and babysitting the cousins (7 under 10 including Sprog). Had nice lodging, although we ate alot of Subway sandwiches as the kitchenettes were small and most of the dining options were "Le Pricier". The week was just enough time to enjoy everyone but not so long as to wear it out, so that was great. The traveling days, on the other hand, were a royal pain and the less said there the better.
As a side note, they had really good sales at Osh Kosh and Carter's outlets on the way back to Denver, so score! Sprog will be well dressed.
Then home for a week, and off for Christmas #2 with my family in Portland, Oregon. Stayed with my folks, spent several days with my sister and brother in law, and had dinner with the grandparents. (And spent a day helping them move furniture and crap around their house to accomadate their aging, but that's another post entirely-- a far grumpier one.)
Spent a nice visit with Spouse's college roomate's family, and saw our last Godchild, a nearly two year old boy. He and Sprog really took to each other, which was cute. Also saw zehera and grepdashv for a nice evening of games and Mexican food, and managed a brunch with sojurner_truth before flying out on Saturday. Spent an overnight with my mom's cousin in Sacramento, and today (new year's eve) finally landed back home.
My visit with mom's cousin came with an added bonus: she'll be passing along some furniture for my spare bedroom, including a full bed, so our guests will eventually be able to sleep on real bed! We'll post when that happens, so everyone who's been waiting to visit us, consider this your personal invitation. Looking forward to seeing you all in the new year!
