I got a 2.1 and a 2.5 (of 4) on my first two papers this quarter. Small papers, things I have decent interest in but am not overwhelmed by. Papers I didn't prepare for extensively, but didn't brush off either. 2.1 and 2.5. I was vocally horrified by the first one and more sedately terrified by the second one

The grading of papers is so entirely subjective... I think sometimes your writing style might not mesh well with the prof. DOn't freak out, writing an essay is just a subset specific skill in the whole writing thing. Even if you are awful at essays (which you aren't) it doesn't mean you are a bad writer. Just figure out what the prof didn't like about your paper (probably something like the organization or structure) and just change it to exactly what they want.

I know. And I guess part of the purpose of school is to learn to conform to expectations without losing your own sense of character. Or whatever. Maybe I'm just irritated that I'm going to have to actually work.

Maybe our libraries are just nicer than yours. Ok, fine, probably not. But as long as I avoid the designated undergrad library and stick to the hidden corners of the nicest one, I think I'm safe. I've been here almost three hours today and I don't think I'm any sicker than I was when I came in ...

Raven, get out of the library and come hang out sometime! We should all go out for drinks sometime in protest of the terrible grading inadequacies of your professor (or TA or whatever)

If it makes you feel any better, I've always been jealous of your posts, because you have the ability to make everything sound so poetic! You have a really cool writing style.

heehee. i kind of liked it anonymous and mysterious. but yes! we should hang out and get drinks or something ... uk. if only everything wasn't so busy! my weekends are pretty open though.
