I like the idea of a liberal arts major approaching a single mom working two jobs and telling her she has the wrong goals, and should not let our patriarchal capitalist culture define her happiness.
I used to think that all I wanted to do was make lots of money... and then something happened. I think in a lot of ways it is easier to be happy if you are rich, or at least well off in the sense you don't have to worry about eating, and you get to take nice vacations. I think a lot of people are just naturally happy or unhappy.
Basically I don't know. Lets talk more about Tom Cruise... Is he happy, I mean really?

money is actualy a fun way to gauge your success. in an ideal capitolist world, haing lots of money would suggest that you've succeeded in serving your fellow man. of course, you can always do community service to serve and you can always rob people to make money but for the most part, you earn money by doing some kind of service. right?

i remember billie holliday singing those songs and i love them! i am sure she's singing them out of some dark humor. kind of like weezer singing about how he doesn't let his woman wear make-up. or the beatles singing about beating their women and keeping them away from the things that they love!

you should do something really emo and make a mix tape of masochistic pop songs.
