As promised, here are some progress pics

So, the patterning has been a real bitch.  Woof woof bitch.  I had everything figured out and then had to cut down the horn and had to re-do the brass/silver mouth pattern, but I finally got it figured out and this is what I've come up with:

I haven't patterned the mid piece yet, because it needs to sit at the balance point or it will hang strangely and be a nuisance.  Until the mouthpiece and mouth parts are finished and attached, I won't know where that is.  The horn tapers, so each piece needs to be custom fitted to each centimeter (!) otherwise there's a space between the metal and the horn, and that's not ok.  As you can see from the hob pattern, there needs to be a slight curve to each piece so it will fit properly at the top and the bottom.

Baby steps, yo.  This will happen if by will alone...
