This may be a dumb question, but do you know if there's any way to make actual textures (the type you select when using the fill tool or whatever is the equivalent in PS) instead of images to use as textures?

These are very pretty. =]

yep, there is. i'm going to wing an answer, because i don't have photoshop in front of me, but if you go into the pattern selection dialogue, you'll see an option to "load". if you click that, it'll walk you through using a non-standard pattern. you have to save the pattern file (sorry, i'm not sure what type of file it will take) and then load it into the pattern menu. the new pattern will appear in the dropdown menu with the rest of the photoshop patterns.
i'll take a look at it tomorrow and see if i can be more succinct that that for you.

Ah sweeeet. Such lovely abstractness. I'm especially fond of #s 4, 6, 7 and 10. But I love all of them!

How should I credit? ravenous_icons? or raven_feathers? or something else?

hmm... well, probably credit as ravenous_icons, as it's the shortest route to my icon journal. but either way will do.
i'd forgotten that i'd done these textures and i do rather like them. i might have to actually do something with them now. :)

Will do. It makes sense; I just wanted to double check.

I'm not a iconist by FAR, but I like them as they are--lends a wordless, imageless emotion to posts .
