I like the light and color, however, they're very poorly cropped. When I first saw your post, I thought they weren't Harry Potter icons at all. There ends up being too much backround space in them, especially in the third one.
Yeah, I did read before commented. I have no problem with abstract, but I don't find the excess space to be asethetic, and I personally think it ruins what could be very excellent icons.
well, erm, 14 is dobby, so i'll assume you mean either 13, which is draco flying through the air or 15, which is harry trying to grip dobby in the hospital wing as he disappears.
DOBBY :X It's like those drawings that are both an old lady and a young woman depending on the way you look at it, you know? I thought it was some thing (a carving? some beastie?) holding something in its hand and looking at it in profile, and that the curve of his nose was, like, the cheek-guard on armor or something. XD I fail at not being blind, I guess. Thanks for enlightening me!
Not my cup of tea, persay (I tend to prefer texty/moody icons) but I really dig 1, 10, 12, 14 and 18.
The coloring in 5, 8, 12, and 13 is awesome. I appreciate them as an artistic experiment.
As for wandwork in SS, do you mean more of the BG effects? I trying to remember if there's anything besides Hagrid lighting a fire at the beginning. The Light Put-Outter could be cool.
this is great, thanks for the feedback. i have to say, they're not really my cup of tea, either. i prefer funny!text icons, but i've noticed that i'm making more stark, colourful icons in the last few months. i guess it's just a phase.
i didn't delve too deeply in caps, merely went through cap_it, but i didn't find anything usable from SS. the put-outer is a good thought, though, and i'll look for it.
i've got lots of good things from PoA and GoF. i guess the budgets keep getting bigger. ;)

they're more harry potter based rorshach tests than proper fandom icons.

I do think these are really neat, though, and when I get my paid icon space back I'll probably gank a few. :D

Also, Dumbledore's pensieve action in GoF.
