The tomatoes comment was because I'm like almost a month late for the ficathon D:, but I'm glad that the fic isn't tomato worthy either! Eee, thank you! So glad you liked it! I must admit, I find nervous!Shunsui to be one of the most adorable things evar. Nervous!Ukitake is pretty freaking adorable too >D. Yay, that's one of my favorite lines too! Glad it went over well!

Nervous Ukitake is awesome, yes:) but he does so often come across as nervous, while it's rare to see fics exploring beyond Shunsui's cheerful persona (other than his motherly concern, which you also capture beautifully:))... Fits nicely with your Ukitake-on-top kink I think!

Yes, exactly! I like both of them nervous (because I'm an evil author/reader <3), but nervous!Shunsui is the best, because it's rare, like you said. With all his antics, Shunsui isn't the type to get nervous about anything, unless it's the quiet kind of nervous before a battle. I like thinking Ukitake is the one person who can actually make him nervous, because Ukitake matters.

I really liked your fic :)

It was interesting how you dealt with the subject of homophobia, it doesn't come up in fics all that often.

I really liked the relationship between Ukitake and Kyoraku - the friendship and the care they show for each other. It was really sweet, and, I think, very much in character.

And it got even better in the confession scene - all that uncertainty and doubt they both felt, I really wanted, IDK, reach through the computer screen and give the poor guys a cuddle or something :D

But luckily they gave each other a cuddle - the whole part when they realised they had loved each other all along was so cute, I went 'awwwww' at reading that. And Kyoraku actually asking Ukitake whether he may kiss him, that was so sweet <33

All in all, really nice story, quite romantic without getting horribly unrealistic. Thanks for writing! :)

I actually have a thing for fics that deal with homophobia. I have one big, huge, long plot in my head for an epic multichapter that deals with it much more in depth... as in, Seireitei is still very homophobic, and Stuff Happens that forces them to deal with. I could babble on about it forever. ^_^;; This was my attempt at dipping my toe into working with it, really.

I'm so glad you liked the way the relationship was portrayed! I did my best to show some of that, and it's definitely relieving to hear that it seems to be in character. :)

Yay! That was definitely the effect I was going for, lol. They are both very squishable in that scene; they need hugs badly.

In some fandoms it's been explored really well, but in Bleach not so much. It can be a complicated subject, and we don't know how it's treated in canon, so it can be much easier just to say "well it's completely accepted~" and it very well could be canon. Given that Seireitei is pretty traditional and it seems to be hard to change those traditions... I don't think it's likely.

And I've dabbled a bit in the universe with these two small drabbles, if you're interested!

This is truly lovely. An interesting take on their relationship, and rather accurate, I believe. The older generation would be more hesitant to enter into a same sex relationship than the younger generations. I think you captured their spirit and character very well.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you think it was accurate! I'm inclined to agree; it's like that to some degree even now, and I think Seireitei would be a lot more repressed.
