So recently I've been messing around in photoshop and I ran across this interesting tutorial for FFXI pictures. Decided to try it out, tell me what you think :o
The rocks part of the picture I gaussian blurred more than the rest. Then the water/dock part of the pic I gaussian blurred less than the rocks. Then I messed with the brightness and contrast, then made another layer and did some halftone pattern blah blah blah etc etc.
The point of it I think is to draw your attention to one thing by making it more focused than the rest of the picture. So like if the picture is really busy you're focusing on the one thing in focus, like if you were taking a picture with a camera. Your subject is in focus while the background stuff is slightly out of focus. Like in this picture the rocks/water/dock is blurred/out of focus while the taru and mithra are still sharp. Works better in a picture with a really busy background but I liked this picture (because I'm a dirty taru :D) so I decided to mess with it and see what happens.
