Boom!

In downtown Seattle: We just heard a massive thunderclap, accompanied by our overhead lights flickering severely.

EDIT: This was promptly followed by one of my coworkers standing above his cube and yelling "Ctrl-S! Ctrl-S!"

I'm so old school, that all I could think of was "Halt output? Why would that be relevant or funny?". *sigh* The days of Ctrl-S and Ctrl-Q are long gone now, and good riddance really. :-)

Ctrl-S cos May 21 2005, 02:58:19 UTC
I still use Ctrl-S for that, in several contexts. It was all I thought of when I read this post. It wasn't 'til just now, when I read the comments, that it occurred to me to try to think what other meaning Ctrl-S might have... and it took me a while. I've been successful enough at avoiding Windows over the years, that I'm really not used to Ctrl-S meaning anything other than flow control. Command-S is "save".
