I set up sacred space according to my own practices with a cushioned mat layered with a sheepskin to recline on. Once my space was set I settled in and started with focused breathing in a seated position, breathing through two cycles of 9 breaths while holding the stone for one ( Read more... )

Well, first I had the impression this was a one time deal and I was determined to give my all to the experiment. Secondly, my husband and I worked things out so that he would be available for the girls so I could focus. He took some zen time earlier in the day on his new/used gold wing and rode south along the coast and was home in time to care for the girls . . . but it worked out better than I could have ever hoped for . . . he came home and as I was setting up to begin he decided to take them out for a long walk. Our neighbor was tinkering around, charging up the engine of his diesel truck, clanking on a trailer . . . mild anxiety came over me because it was loud! Then just as I sat to start my breathing exercises . . . he drove off down the road and the only sound present was that of twitering birds. I had a solid hour of completely uninterupted working space. As I finished the family came home, my honey cooked dinner as I started to write up my notes, we ate and I was able to return without being disturbed to do the scrying ( ... )
