You got your Lovely Poodle dress? *high fives* Wow, you (and a lot of other people) are putting me to shame with all the concern you have for your loved ones' reactions to Lolita. With me it was just like "I like THIS now, so I'll be wearing it from here on, thank you very much."
In a way, I feel like a little emotioanl tank. ("This is how I feel! ME!" *squishes everyone else*) But I'm also glad I DIDN'T ask anyone's opinion, because my boyfriend really hated it at first. He's shy, and not used to getting attention on the street. If I'd asked him, and he'd told me when I was starting out, I'd have been crushed and quit. Thankfully, by the time he told me, he was pretty much over the embarrassment. That, and it was far too late, as I no longer had enough "civillian" clothes to get me through a week.
How are your parents about it? Mine are fine, they just wish I had a cheaper hobby. XD
Unfortinatly I'm a very self consious person so I tend to seek peoples approval on things a lot. My boyfriend has known that I've really liked lolita for ages so I gave him the chance to say he didn't like it. He's one of these people, kinda like you I suppose?, who don't really care what people think as long as he's happy which means as long as it looks good on me and makes me happy he doesn't mind what I wear. He was joking before I went out in it the first time that I would be a complete embaressment to him but when we went outside he was actually very nice about it! XD
I dunno how my parents are about it yet. I haven't actually worn it in front of them. My mum say the dress when it wasn't on me and thought it was very cute so I suppose thats something? XD
