wales was very cool. we went to a bunch of old roman sites with an archaeologist who excavated them. i can't remember the name of the village we were at, but it's the only place in europe where the romans had an extensive settlement that was later completely abandoned. which means that nothing was built on top of it later - so it's full of stuff ( Read more... ) -

so, tomorrow i'm going to wales. it's kinda last minute, because i didn't know about it (it's a planned trip by the study abroad people here) until today. but i signed up, and i'm going. should be pretty cool-loads of old roman ruins & stuff.
also, looks like i'll be going to paris. or maybe rome. really cool. -

i just booked my coach ticket to london. it cost me 1 pound. 2 dollars! i can't believe it! -

strange
it's a strange thing to be abroad on thanksgiving. i'm going to have dinner with about 12 other americans that i don't know very well. dinner will be in a restaurant on the high street prepared by an irishman. hopefully it's good...i can't expect an american thanksgiving experience, but i think i can expect to over-eat as much as i would at home ( Read more... ) -

intelligence:
i like to consider myself an intelligent person. but what makes me intelligent? presumably it's the ability to think in a meaningful way. but most often, it rather feels as though i only stumble upon thoughts. like a dream in which the details slip through your fingers as soon as you wake. couldn't unintelligent people have this too ( Read more... ) -

fuckin hell
i lost my mobile phone last night. i'm off to see if the bar found it, but i bet if we all call it, somebody wierd will answer.
grrrrr.....good thing i got insurance, so they'll replace it. if the bar doesn't have it, i'll have to go get another one.
