Haven't updated in a few days, bad me...it's been busy around here, with work and phone calls. Katrina didn't do any damage here, other than sending our road sign spinning a few hundred yards down the road. Given the news coming in from further west, we got very very lucky. Cherie Priest made a post about the hullabaloo about the looters in the aftermath of Katrina--did you see it?

I'm glad to know that you're all right, though I think that no matter would have happened, you would have survived it. =) How are things going with your farmhouse?

My old high school theatre troupe is hoping to pool some resources for the victims of Katrina; we're producing "Steel Magnolias," so we thought it'd be especially appropriate.

Things at the new place are going in fits and starts, but we're heading in the right direction. I hope to post "before" pics of the place soon.

I haven't been able to bring myself to even watch the news... it is too sad. But thanks to Yahoo, I still have an idea of what's going on, and I love reading about the positive aspects, like the 13 year old boy that saved 12 people... amazing.

I've never been anywhere near there, and we are so far away, it is really a helpless feeling. So all we can really do is send money or supplies and watch in horror. I hate feeling helpless.

I hope you hear from your uncle soon.
