I wouldn't be caught dead on a snowboard

Many of you may have heard me complain endlessly about snowboarders: what they do to the snow, how they sit right in the middle of the trail, and how they take up the whole damn ski lift. Glad you liked it! The day I picked up a snowboard (after 12 years of skiing every weekend of every winter) I never looked back. Carving on a board is one of the most pleasurable experiences.

My dad's 60-something friends who live near Okemo in Vermont apparently chucked their skis about 10 years ago and pretty much snowboard exclusively now.

A snowboard could never be as cool as our his-and-hers Totally 80s K2s, however.[1][2]

[1] His: teal. Hers: electric pink. Purchased 5-6 years before we met. Kismet.
[2] Of course these skis haven't seen snow since 2001, since our skibox and our calendar are overbooked for cross-country skiing.
