Holy fuck I've just figured out where I want to go on an exchange... I kept thinking Oxford but hells no - Amsterdam. I'm doing some research now and the cost of accomodations in the centre of Amsterdam is about 420-450 Euros a month which isn't bad considering in the past two years I was paying between $600-1000 per month where I've been living ( Read more... )

Hey Louise! (this would be Suzanne)

For some reason I'm on LJ again, and I've added you. Hope summer's going well for you so far, and Amsterdam... yeah, that would be pretty great.

Yeah man, do it. I was thinking of taking an extra year to do an exchange at the University of Cape Town, if I don't get accepted there for grad. Thoughts? Also, what were you doing in Hart House, eh? Sleeping in my library, no doubt. I will find you. And then say "hello."

Hey look, I'm typing from North Carolina.

Oh SNAP no I wasn't! I was in The Arbour Room ahaha. How's North Carolina treating you?

And yes, I think doing an exchange is definitely a worthwhile experience anywhere if you have the resources. We're young. Another year doesn't hurt anyone. I know I'll take a fifth, possibly a sixth too if I go part-time and got other priorities in my life to sort out. But what's the consequence? That I graduate when I'm 22 or 23 (because I'm born in November)? Pfft.

Amsterdam is lovely. I wish I'd spent more time there/been less tired when I went.
