Background: On Fio and her role in Metal Slug
Personality: Fio is a cheerful girl despite her status as a soldier. She's open and friendly, and always optimistic. More often than not, she's willing to lend a hand or an ear to a friend in need. In a way, her bubbly outlook comes off as childish to others. It doesn't help that she keeps a stuffed teddy bear at her side, even in the middle of a battle. In a way, the plush bear is sort of an emulation of Fio: out-of-place, yet still brings happiness in times of sorrow. It's been with her since birth, and she has no plans on giving it up to anyone.
It also doesn't help that she tends to be very shy at times. Because of her father's influence and determination to keep her out of the line of fire, she tends to keep a low profile. She spent a good chunk of her fledgling military career behind a desk, so when she was finally sent to the field, she was caught off-guard. But the random move wasn't without benefits. Her shyness and initially quiet demeanor helped her immensely; as she's survived all of the major skirmishes she's been involved in. She will most likely take a little time to warm up to strangers, but once she does, she will show her more talkative and friendly side. Until then, Fio will lay low and avoid taking shots, so to speak.
Her calmness comes from her extensive training as well as her curative hobbies: acupuncture and chiropractic medicine. She's rarely seen angry and she doesn't like getting upset or short with people. It's mainly because she hates feeling warm or hot, so she tries to keep herself as cool as possible. When she does get angry, her posh upbringing comes out. Fio will start throwing tantrums like a spoiled princess... with a gun. Thankfully, those sorts of fiery outbursts are few and far between. One would really have to push her in order for her to get that upset. Until that happens, she will remain cool and centered. Her generally calm attitude is a refreshing change compared to her more trigger-happy comrades, earning her the unusual nickname: "Teatime in the Battlefield". That tea had best be iced, as Fio cannot stand hot drinks at all.
The only time Fio is serious is when she's in battle. While she does prefer the background, she's still a high-ranking member of S.P.A.R.R.O.W's Intelligence Division. Her calmness and more positive demeanor comes into play as she picks up the morale of her fellow soldiers. And like her allies, she's ready to shoot, knife, and blow anyone up. Her cleverness also shows up in battle as she finds new ways to either avoid enemy attacks or counterattack. And Fio does love a good, intelligent counter. She's not a naturally violent person, but she does get a kick out of explosions and defeating General Morden's troops. Once all is said and done, Fio gets really serious by asking her troops, "Who wants cake?!" as she proceeds to the mess hall.
Abilities: Fio doesn't have any conventional super powers. She has an extensive military background and is proficient in armed combat. Her regains would be her various weapons, but it would take some patience to retrieve all of them.
