this post where
stealth__grrl (YES ALYSSA, I'm calling you out :D) 'shopped katie cassidy's quote in TV Guide to make it seem like jensen said it, and then it just kind of snowballed from there?

“What the hell?” She heard from a distance. Katie knew something had to be up when Kim sounded like that. She knew the boys liked playing pranks (she was known to pull some herself, actually) but for once she was glad she wasn’t a part of this one. Plus she was already getting used to the awesome sets and the kick-ass clothes she got to wear. Ruby was definitely fun to play.
Katie went back to reading over her script when she looked up and saw Jared run by her, giggling under his breath with Jensen in tow beside him.
“Do you think he knows I helped you? God, I hope not.”
“Whatever, dude. If he knows I had something to do with it, I’m sure not taking all the blame.”
“You wish Kim liked you more than me,” Jensen muttered, smiling at his co-star. Jared just scoffed and punched his shoulder softly. She grinned as she heard them talking in whispers then looked to her left where she saw Kim stomping towards them. That and the horrid smell making its way over to where she was sitting. Gross. Jared looked at her with wide eyes and tugged Jensen’s arm, both of them running out to their trailers.
“Those boys are in for it,” Kim said under his breath and Katie laughed at that, looking back to see Jared and Jensen hightail it into Jared’s trailer and the way Jensen gazed at Jared as they ran side by side. Her eyebrow arched slightly.
That was the first time she noticed it.

Going out with the crew and cast was a habit for them up there; usually her and Lauren would be hit on way too quickly before she was tired of rolling her eyes at stupid come-on’s and pick-up line’s that were way too sleazy, even for guys older than her. Which.. ew.
A few times Jared and Jensen would stick up for them, moving the girls aside and walking them back to the table while giving the beer-induced jackasses intimidating looks. When she wasn't being hit on, however, Katie liked to sit back and watch. Lauren would ramble on about how the pubs in England were more her style or when she was off ordering herself another martini (Katie liked Coronas, thank you very much), she’d watch the boys.
She saw how Jared would sometimes follow the way Jensen’s throat bobbed up and down when he drank his beer and then glanced away with a hand scratching the back of his neck. His nervous habit, she figured. But it wasn’t just at the bar. That was just the beginning.

“Hey Katie, have you seen Jared by any chance?”
She was running lines in her head, trying to get in the mindset of Ruby for the next scene they were shooting when Ruby is supposed to yell at Dean for the very first time. Jensen coming up to her was so not part of the plan of trying to keep the tension between them. She sighed, looking up at him.
“Can’t you see I’m working here?” A little bit of Ruby came out as she said it and she immediately felt herself smile. But Jensen interrupted so now he had to suffer her frustration as payback.
“So have you?” He asked again and she glared at him the only way she knew how, which failed when he gave her that slow grin. Typical Jensen with that lazy-ass smirk.
“Isn’t he attached to your hip 24/7? Why would I know?” She joked.
Jensen shrugged, sniffling once then looked down, back up and glancing to his left, casually trying to look for Jared as if she was oblivious. She cocked an eyebrow at him as he continued to stand there, looking like a teenager about to go out on their first date with the popular guy at school. Her lips turned up into a smile but she bit down on her bottom lip, pushing the laughter away as he looked back at her.
“Maybe he’s in the make-up trailer?” She offered. He nodded, looking a little sheepish and walked off.
She had to hide her face with her script to keep from laughing.

Shooting went into it’s fifteenth hour and she was really glad her last scene was over and done with. Katie couldn’t wait to get to her apartment and get some actual sleep. She smiled to herself. Mm, bed. She drank from a water bottle then wiped at her mouth then watched as Jared and Jensen waited for the crew to set up for the next scene.
Jared stood in front of Jensen, huge smile plastered on his face as he spoke to him. Jensen’s face was serious until it split into a blinding smile, his face contorting as he tilted his head back and laughed. Jared watched as Jensen laughed and even in the dark Katie could see how Jared looked genuinely happy to have made his best friend laugh like that.
“Hey Katie.” Suddenly Jared was right in front of her and she stumbled back a bit.
“Warn a girl when you do that?” She punched his shoulder playfully.
“You looked like you were daydreaming, you okay?” Jensen looked kind of concerned and she wanted to roll her eyes.
“Yeah, just a little tired.” Jared chuckled.
“Get used to it, kid. It’ll be like this all the time,” Jared looked at Jensen when he said that, gigantic smile never faltering. Jensen just nodded furiously and it was Jared’s turn to laugh this time. Honestly, they looked ridiculous: Jared had a bruise on his high cheek, thanks to the make-up people but that didn’t stop him from being his overly-hyper self on set. And Jensen had blood on his lower lip from Dean taking a punch earlier, making his mouth look slightly more pouty if that were even possible.
Just as she was about to joke that Jensen should ask Shannon to pick another lipstick color next time Jared reached over and brushed his thumb over Jensen’s bloody bottom lip, smearing it over the upper one, Jensen swatting his hand away. Jared laughed big and loud.
“Get off me,” she heard Jensen mumble, grinning back at Jared who caught him in a headlock. They were practically wrestling, Jared’s arm wrapped around Jensen’s shoulder and holding him in a bent angle, his mouth centimeters away from Jensen’s ear, lips practically mouthing his ear lobe. In fact, she may have let out a small whimper when Jensen turned his face slightly and Jared’s lips touched his stubbled cheek, both pulling away like they were burned.
The crew called them to set at that exact same moment. They walked side by side and as soon as they walked past her, she saw their hands grazing, Jensen tugging on Jared’s finger and then moving to stand across from Jared as the director yelled ‘action.’
Katie just stared, her mouth slightly parted.

“You really think they’re in love with each other, or something?” Lauren was on the verge of hysterics and really, that was embarrassing. Katie decided asking Lauren to go to lunch with her was a bad idea. Especially since she didn’t see it herself, which come on.
“I’m not making this up, okay? You’re not even listening to anything I’ve been saying!” She threw her hands up. Lauren’s giggles subsided long enough for her to put a hand up in apology.
“I’m sorry. But it’s just kind of.. gay, don’t you think?”
“Gee, I didn’t know being in love with someone who was a man while you were also a man meant that you might be gay.” Katie rolled her eyes. “Yes, I know what that means. It’s just so obvious that they might be a little more than friends. The way they look at each other? And all the flirting and touching they do on set? It’s like they want to be seen that way. Especially Jensen, that boy has it bad.”
“But don’t they have girlfriends, or something?”
Katie sipped her ice tea, pulling her hair back into a ponytail. “I think they both mentioned something like a break? I don’t know, but every time I see Jensen get that faraway look in his eyes, it’s always when he’s talking about Jared.”
Lauren shook her head, a smile appearing. “I guess I can agree with you there.”
Katie laughed, “See? I’m not completely crazy.”
“So, why are you telling me all this? Are you planning something?” Lauren narrowed her eyes at her. Katie shrugged nonchalantly, coughing to hide the mischievous smirk she had.
“No, of course not.”
Lauren cocked an eyebrow at her and Katie laughed at her disbelievingly.
“You don’t believe me? Thanks a lot,” she tried to sound playful and hurt at the same time.
“All I know is that when you set your mind to something, it usually ends up happening.”
“Whatever,” Katie waved her hand at her, not bothering to acknowledge the fact that Lauren was right.

That day there was some reporter from TV Guide coming to do a piece on Jared. Something about the Hottest People of Television, or some such nonsense. Katie was just glad to be the one being interviewed and not the other way around.
On her way to set one of the PA’s stopped her, looking slightly frantic. Katie looked confused.
“Um, TV Guide’s here but-”
“Oh, are they not ready for me yet?”
“No, no that’s not it. Well.”
Katie looked expectantly at the girl.
“Jensen’s being interviewed. He’s doing your interview.”
“What?” Katie’s eyes went big.
“I don’t think they know you’re the one they’re supposed to be talking to?”
By the time she was on set, it was too late. Jensen looked boyish as he spoke about Jared.
Katie couldn’t believe that Jensen was talking about Jared like that: how he was amazing and funny and sexy and-wait. She couldn’t help but let out a laugh. Jensen jumped in surprise, his eyes widening when he looked at Katie.
“I see your doing my interview, Jensen. How nice of you to take care of that for me,” she pouted in mock-sadness then winked playfully at the reporter who, to Jensen’s great disbelief, winked back. He sputtered, trying to find the words as he stared at her then quickly looked at the man still holding up the small, almost hidden recorder.
“No,” he pointed at her accusingly and looking very much caught in the act, “I was just talking about the show and the dynamic between-you don’t believe I was actually serious, do you?” He looked frantic almost and Katie bit her lip in order to not make a fool of herself again. The man looked smug as he hit ‘stop’ and shrugged.
“Well, you’re right about one thing. The dynamic you and Jared have sure is special.”
Katie giggled, not bothering to hide it anymore. Jensen’s mouth gaped, he didn’t know what was going on. Katie waved the reporter off and put an arm around Jensen’s shoulders and walked him down the set, but not before she mouthed ‘thanks’ to the TV Guide guy, turning a serious face to Jensen.
“Look, it was supposed to be my interview. So what’d you tell him exactly?” She was seriously curious and didn’t remind him that she heard when Jensen called Jared sexy. Or something. Jensen sighed.
“Just, you know, how we get along so well and how he’s always acting stupid on set. That guy didn’t tell me at all it was your interview,” Jensen looked about ready to hyperventilate and she was trying so hard not to laugh. Her plan was unfolding and this moment was priceless.
“Okay, well, that doesn’t seem too bad. Maybe they can just use that instead of having to re-do it?”
“No!” Jensen’s eyes got big and he grabbed her arm as she turned to leave. “I mean, no. I think maybe it’d be better if you did it.” He shrugged, playing casual. “They asked you so you should do it.”
Katie nodded, smiling at him reassuringly. “Sure.” Jensen exhaled, running a hand through his hair.
“Well, I’m gonna go. Prepare for the next scene,” Jensen mumbled, and headed off toward Jared’s trailer. Katie folded her arms over her chest and didn’t even flinch when the reporter tapped her shoulder.
“Are we still printing this, or what?”
Katie’s lips turned up into a smirk, turning to face him. “I can’t do that to him. It was awesome to see him freak out, that’s all I wanted.”
“You sure?”
She nodded, “I’ll do my interview, you can just tape over Jensen’s.”
The reporter nodded, looking disappointed and she couldn’t help but laugh at that. Even though there was so much more she had in store for "Operation: Get Stretch and Sugarlips to Finally Admit They Want Each Other" she didn’t mind as long as she knew she was right about Jensen having a huge man crush on Jared.
She couldn't wait to tell Lauren about this.
