Gaaaaa...

Get it out of my head and maybe I can work? Why am I twisting and turning River's history about in my head right now, anyway?!

The River Rory meets in StormCage is older than the River we meet at Demon's Run, but not by much (I hope, hahaha, otherwise this will stretch into season 7).

"Today is the day that the Doctor learns who I am." And she didn't mean being Melody, which may or may not be true though I'm currently inclined to believe. She meant that she had been raised to be a weapon to be used against him. What better weapon could the Alliance have found? A child held by monsters and crying for protection from the Space Man. An impossible, intriguing TimeLord x human cross. The child of two of his best friends. I'm sure there will be other reasons, but the first was enough to suck him in hook, line, and sinker. And young, lying, manipulative River who enjoys killing things? Oh, he probably won't like her much at all and he will certainly learn not to trust her which is why "Everything will change, and I'm so sorry".

River lies. River lies and lies and lies. She also manipulates. And she likes to tweak the Doctor. I have a feeling that I'm going to be mad at her for the second half of the season. *wry grin* I know she'll get what's coming to her by her expression when she sees Rory in StormCage, but I think I'm still going to be mad. Hopefully, I'll be amused as well.

The man River kills will be the Doctor. I was never in this camp before, but I am now. And it will piss Rory off so much and young River will really regret it. Thank heavens the Doctor just tricked her. We all know he can't be really dead, though he may have to regenerate which I will be unhappy with. I like Matt Smith's Doctor.

Alternate theory number two is that River goes to kill the Doctor and ends up killing Rory instead. That is very possible, knowing Rory. I won't be too happy about this either as Rory is now officially my favorite companion. ("Where. Is. My. Wife." Oh, Rory... Kakkuiiiiiii!!!)

But River is going to kill the Bad Doctor, not the Good Doctor. The Great Warrior that got everyone so riled up against him that they formed an Alliance to build the Pandorica to imprison him forever. And then she will spend the rest of her life trying to make amends for it to the Doctor and Rory and Amy.

The question is... Is the River at the end of A Good Man from before or after the death? I thought it was before at first. Shrewdly tricking the Doctor into thinking that she's on his side and leaving her with his current best friends. Oh, this could be very, very bad. Particularly if Lorna was another regeneration of River (which, I totally believe she is). But, the way she treated Amy, I'm not so sure. This could be right before she kills the Doctor, and she could be super excited because she thinks his future self has found a way out of all this. Then again, if he's able to re-write time, he might and she could be from a different future. Or, she's from after, but also after she finds out that he survived.

So much brainhurt. In a mystery/puzzle good way, but so much brainhurt. But now, maybe I can get back to work! *sigh* Mata ne!

river, doctor who
