A FAIRY STORY“. . . and the Giant’s ring fell to earth, where it can still be found today if you know where to look.  Sweet dreams,” said the storyteller.  Just as Amy fell asleep, he touched her forehead and whispered a spell in her ear, then left her bedroom ( Read more... )

I loved this! I really enjoy the way your humor always peeks through, just a little bit, so as not to distract from the overall story. Being in Orlando, I know several people that have worked for Disney, and, while they always thoroughly enjoyed it (I feel like once you're a cult member you're not allowed to not enjoy the work anyway), I always found myself mildly horrified by the idea of working for the parks, so I certainly understood Killian's hesitation.

It's a little sad, too, that so many of these characters are just left to sleep with no one to wake them. And the poor witches that don't even get candy houses to live in or children to torment!

Thank you! We have been to Disneyland when our children were little and had wonderful times, but I wondered what it would be like to work there. "Cult member" was a great phrase! I wondered how people could small so much in the midst of such a crush of people, and now I know. I couldn't see real fairy tale characters wanting to work there, but there really isn't much else for them to do except the Big Sleep.

LOL!!!! We need more fairy storytellers! So much attention to detail! And I adored how you gave Killian so much personality with a few direct beacons of light on his day-in/day-out! It really is all your detail and witty dialogue that brings your stories to such vivid life!

Thank you! I wanted to write a story about a fairy telling fairy tales. I've always been interested in the twilight of fairy stories, Greek myths, indigenous tales in the modern world, especially since the classic tales (with few exceptions) are no longer read. I'm glad you appreciate the details. They are still fun to write and sometimes it's hard to keep them in check.

My interests lie here, too. Your ability to reinvent familiar characters and plots is an absolute delight to delve into. Your details always pull me in closer.

Thank you. I wondered what it would be like to be a working fairy in the modern world. A good job for a fairy would be to tell fairy tales.
